President's Greeting

Welcome to the homepage of the Gamma Kappa chapter of the International Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta at the Colorado School of Mines. We hope that you enjoy your look around our website and find everything that you are looking for.

The Gamma Kappa Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta was founded on March 23, 1985 (currently the youngest of the fraternity chapters at CSM by nearly 60 years) and has 41 active members and pledges.

During the 1997-98 school year, our chapter decided to go alcohol free. We made this decision because we feel that it best promotes a clean and positive environment for studying.

Our chapter has received numerous awards for outstanding performance from our International Fraternity, the school, and outside institutions. These include the Owen Cup, awarded for having the most improved scholarship within our International Fraternity, a Jefferson County Good News Award for our work at the Golden Library, and many others. Our chapter is also able to boast two Wilkinson Award-winning graduates, an award given to the most outstanding graduating senior within our entire International Fraternity.

During the course of the semester our chapter holds numerous service events. These include a Halloween carnival for diabetic children, tutoring for K-12 students at the Golden City Library, and assisting with the Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s in Denver, among other service events. We also hold many social events to promote brotherhood within the chapter; including movie nights, dodgeball, various social events with sororities, and a hot tub party the night before finals week to help relax before everyone’s tests. We understand how difficult the Colorado School of Mines is but we also realize that to succeed we have to relax as well.
